Gay movie?

It seems it a bit, but I think it's more severe envy than an emotional thing. I don't know. It is my favourite film, so I could analyse it ffor a LONG time. The sexua tension throughout it is really quite high.
 
Can't believe that no-one's mentioned Ma Vie (also known as Ma Vrai Vie a Rouen and it has an American title too) and Drole de Felix. Both on a par with Brokeback Mountain (and miles better than Eating Out, for example). Most of the gay films distributed by Parasol Peccadillo are pretty good.

Not really 'gay', but Y Tu Mama Tambien is certainly worth watching.

Also Transamerica is fabulous, if only for Kevin Zegers.
 
Terry Gilliam has just announced he is to start filming a new all gay version of his 1981 fantasy adventure.
This time it will be called Arse Bandits.

Wasn't there some controversy that the two leaRAB were directed to be seen as unrequited lovers but weren't aware of the fact or something?
 
I'm amazed that nobody's mentioned Torch Song Trilogy.

I do wonder what is meant by "mainstream". My definition would be that if the film is shown at my local multiplex - such as Brokeback Mountain - then it's mainstream. Many of the films mentioned in this thread were only shown at a few "arthouse" cinemas (unfortunately).
 
Erm yeah, in and Out is not so much a gay movie. Its more of a:

'Let's make a movie with two very straight actors who will play gay men very uncomfortably but will make our film like its cool to be gay and we are totally accepting of gay people so much so that we will have the corniest most insulting ending to gay people ever where the entire town stanRAB up and says they are gay in support of the main character and it will make the audience barf even more than the compeltely sickening ending to Patch Adams..'

On a plus not, not entirely a gay film but 'The object of my Affection' is great
