Hey =)

So I don't know why but I read up on the Brokeback mountain page of wikipedia today, and was wondering if anyone could reccomend some gay films anywhere near as good as this one?

Is Brokeback Mountain like the only mainstream gay film?
I think it's the only one I've heard of,besides Not Another Gay Movie, that gay american pie film?

Smokey and the Bandit
Lord of the Rings
Blonde Fist
Carry on Cruising
Cottage to Let
The Tooth Fairy
The Queen
Sailor Beware
For the Boys
Rentadick

all would feature in my list of favourites.

if you're asking bout mainstream gay flick then "I Love You Philip Morris".. played by ta-dah...Jim Carrey. coming out early next year i guess.
If the more conventional one..."Tipping the Velvet" is smart and have you ever heard of Showtime series "Queer as Folks?", that is one brilliant series.

Off the top of my head:

Longtime Companion (fantastic AIRAB movie)
Torch Song Trilogy (great drag queen comedy/drama)
Connie and Carla (ok comedy)
To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar (below par Priscilla, Queen of the Desert rip off)
The Mostly Unfabulous Life of Ethan Green (so so comedy)
The 24th Day (ok thriller)
Big Eden (ok romantic drama)
Urbania (ok thriller)
Beautiful Thing (great comedy/drama)
Priest (great drama)
Ma Vie En Rose (great Belgian comedy/drama)
Being At Home With Claude (French Drama)

LOL Ive seen that  :D

Is that the one where they have the white party and the red party or am I thinking of another film?

The one im talking about, his mate is taking steroiRAB all the way through...I got it from blockbuster a while ago....I might be wrong I might be thinking....infact as typing this out Ive remembered one called Circuit which I might be talking about...

What happens in the fluffer? Im sure Ive seen it I remember them filming on a rooftop with a pool?

Get Real and C.R.A.Z.Y spring to mind as good films also.

If you can bring yourself to watch a black & white film, then I'd add 'Victim' with Dirk Bogarde to the list. Shows you what it was like before gay decriminalisation...

Derek Jarman's Sebastiane is Ok - if you can speak Latin. :D

My favourite film too, everyone else seems to hate it lol. Have you read the book?

Ripley's sexuality is deliberately ambiguous. In the book he admits he's bisexual. I think the film portrays him more to be gay. He is in love with Dickie. He likes the girls but it is more for the image to be like Dickie. He is ambiguously in a relationship with Peter at the end of the film too...
