gave birth 3weeks ago,is it ok to have sex??? pleasse answer?

Hi everyone...ok basically i gave birth to my beautifull baby girl 3 weeks ago and i had a normal vaginal delivery but as i was pushing i tore ''down there'' and i had to get stitches that the doctor told me would dissolve themself thank god so over the past 3 weeks i have been having warm baths to dissolve the stitches and heal the tear and now everything feels fine down there..no pain at all and my period has also fully stopped so its all normal down there again..i really want to start having sex again and my partner also really wants it 2..as we hav not had sex since february so its been quite a while and both our hormones are going crazy sorry (T.M.I)..i was thinking of trying to begin it with my partner maybe later on tonight bt wat id really like to know is if any1 had a similiar birth to this and when did they start having sex again..also we will be using birth control so the risk of infection should be low
