I just installed a new car stereo in my 2003 ford escort zx2, but now my gauge lights dont work. all of the warning lights are working fine, but the backlight for the speedometer and tachometer no long come on when i cut the lights on. when installing the new wire harness for the stereo there were two orange wires for the dimmer/illumination, so i just tied them both into the new wire harness with the new orange wire (so all three wires were tied together). I am thinking that this has something to do with the problem. My fuse is fine since the same fuse is used for the gauge lights, turn signal, and rear defrost. The turn signal and defrost are working fine. any help will be greatly appreciated.
