I've been researching for months between the Sony Bravia 40" EX500 Series, the Vizio 42" Class, and the Panasonic Viera TC-P42S2. Finally, I choose the Panasonic because of it's cost and the overall quality of the purchase. However, it came to my attention that the Panasonic TC-P42S2 does not have a VGA port. My Laptop has an HDMI port, and so does the S2, but I am afraid that since the S2 doesn't have a VGA Port and a PC settings I will lose some of the quality. I do not own Cable, and watch all my shows/movies exclusively from Netflix, Hulu, TPB, and similar sites. So the only reason I am purchasing a TV is to act as a wider PC monitor, thus if the S2 is going to give me rubbish quality I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. So the question: since there is no VGA port, and only HDMI ports, and my PC has an HDMI port, will connecting the two give me a quality connection to use the TV as a Monitor?
