Holy Crap, they're making Astroboy? It definitely sounds interesting. Sounds like sopme sort of Pinocchio meets Robocop, except with an obvious superhero setting.
These movies definitely appear ambitious. I hope these don't fall into the age-old "all style, no substance" category.
Only a title pic with Astro's silhouette. Is that all? Astro looks more like a plastic doll than a robot. I always imagined him with a metallic skin and visible joints. I don't like him to be too human-like.
The news articles I found says the movie will have a new story written by the studio. What, Tezuka's awesome storytelling is not good enough for them? I already have a bad feeling about this.
We are getting a Voltron remake. Not sure when filming starts though.
It's going to be "Gatchaman". Not Battle of the Planets, not G-Force, Gatchaman. Ken, Joe, Jun, Ryu, Jinpei, etc all. The director said he wanted to do something on the source material and not the adaptations.
And BOTP was pretty horrible. It completely blitzed the original premise and story.
I don't find it too insulting. If they write a new story and it works, then I'll be pleased. After all, I'm more concerned that a film will be entertaining than on how close it'll stick to it's source.
I'm looking forward to them. I liked TMNT quite a bit. I've never been a huge Gatchaman fan, but I'll see it. Astro Boy on the other hand, I am really looking forward to.
Just too be as much of a "pain" as I can be. "Gotcha Man" "G-Force" "AstroBoy" are completely different shows. Though none I ever liked. Nothing anyone has said makes any sense. So I'm not sure where to start complaining.
