Gas Prices...

E85. Grown from corn, and it iwll work in MOST vehicles in MOST situations.

You just have to adjust the spark timing and air-fuel ratios for it. A couple of other minor things but for the most part it runs fine.

It's for the most part, fairly viable. I'm toying around with getting my new motor built for a high-compression E85 fuel.

Unfortunately, the gas mileage isnt any better, it's actually a little worse. But it wold reduce our dependence on OPEC a lot, and support American farmers. And since it's not comprised of mostly finite resources it would hopefully lead to less price-gouging. But the realist in me says we would just be switching one master for another. But at least this way we're not funding the middle-eastern terorrist oil baron regimes.

There are reasons people speculate it wont work, I think they're wrong. Brazil has been running all their cars on Ethanol made from sugar cane for 20-30 years now I believe.

Well, E85 has a LOT of problems.

1. It won't work in most engines. It will work in most NEW engines produced in the last 7 to 8 years. In older engines it can destroy the fucking thing. It runs hotter.

2. It is leading to a whole NEW area of price gouging. Corn has suddenly gotten far more expensive. This means your beef costs more as it costs more to feed the cattle. It also means other crops are being replaced by corn to make ethanol. So produce is going up.

3. As you said, it actually reduces gas mileage by a fairly substantial amount.

4. It takes more energy to produce a gallon of ethanol than the ethanol contains.

E85 is an interesting solution but the only thing it actually does is reduce our dependency on foreign oil. It doesn't actually solve any of the issues.

Fun little poster there for you kids. What we need is to actually sit down brilliant minds and come up with a real solution, not an ethanol pipe dream. (Coincidentally Ethanol believers read this)

So what do we do not as a nation but as the world. Well I think Japan has the Right Idea!

Man my gas per month is costing almost the same as my fucking insurance(I'm 16 so my insurance is sky fucking high). That is very fucking sad.

I agree with Uber. What? If you're debating with someone could you give us a hint as to whom it is? Or would you like to continue typing somewhat incoherently?

As for ethanol, believe what you will. The facts are there, all you need to do is dig through the "facts".

It's currently around $3.20 in Long Island, New York.

I don't own a car, but since I intend to enter the field of computer repairs and possibly networking they don't affect me as much (better pay).

They are getting so bad though, I am thinking about getting an econobox *shudders*...God damn I hate Civics, Corollas, and older Volvo's. That ride. That rough fucking ride.

It's fucking crap that the older Lexus LS400's use premium fuel only and get 18mpg city. They are such wonderful cars...and here, readily available and very affordable ($5000).

yeah gas prices here in cali are like 3.48 a gal costly.

theres a chain letter going around on myspace telling everyone not to buy gas on may 15 thats today. it say poeple boycotted gas back in april 17 for a day or 2 and gas prices dropped 45 cents... so yeah hop on that shit... and dont buy gas today.

Thats the other part of this that pisses me off besides the big vehicles. OPEC is charging the shit out of the U.S. and were to chicken shit to do anything about it. There is a lot to this though but it's all about MAKING THE STOCK HOLDERS HAPPY, (Especially the Major stock holders in oil companies)....Think about it people the price of gas has doubled within about 3 years THEY ARE GOUGING the world isn't using twice as much gas over a 3 year period GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK.......Now you may ask well what can we do about this evil? The answer is military action! I DON'T SUPPORT THE WAR IN IRAQ George Bush is dumb and made a huge error; think about it though the U.S. is still very powerful we don't have to sacrifice any troops or anything all the U.S. needs to do is rattle their sword a little bit and the fuckers will stop overcharging. All the U.S. would have to say is no more oil will be shipped until the price Gouging stops, and if you try to ship any your oil tanker will be bombed by an F16 and the middle east has NO air superiority over us so fuck off. That would mean to the ultra rich shareholders and families many of who are BILLIONAIRES that they may be able to have 50 Cadillacs but not 100 a month FUCK YOU you can't have 100 becasue the U.S. said so, and for all of you who think thats wrong and violent, IT'S VIOLENT TO OVERCHARGE POOR welfare families living on ketchup soap; those poor mothers with kids. Unfortunately we have a biased government think about it Dick Chaney he owns thousands of shares in oil hmmmmmmm FOR some really odd reason I would think that would make him bias in are oil crisis JESUS I can't believe that someone who owns that much of a company in oil would be bias? Your kidding? The sad part is folks he casts a vote when there is a tie in congress. Sick isn't it are government doesn't care these oil companies are huge and families that own shares in them are getting Richer including Chaney; the government doesn't give a shit about you and ME the average people. We need military actions here the government was not being responsible letting this crisis happen. Lets put it this way the major families in oil companies would make Bill Gates look poverty stricken. Exxon alone has more than twice as much capitol as EVEN WAL-MART......There stock has doubles in 2 YEARS YOU COULD HAVE DOUBLED YOUR MONEY in 2 YEARS and exxon isn't even the MOST EVIL OIL ENTITY YET. Think about that 2 years that would mean major stock holders have been increasing their $$$$ at 35% interest a year...Thats like credit card interest YUCK!! But don't take my word for it go to yahoo finance and type XOM for a company symbol and look at exxon's profits for 2 years

1. Paragraphs.

2. OPEC is a conglomerate of sovereign nations. Not a company that the US has control over.

3. Military action would only result in things like 9/11 happening on a more frequent basis.

4. Blowing up an oil tanker would create a huge ecological disaster that the US would be responsible for.

5. Your silly assed plan would cause gas prices to more than double overnight. You're pissed about $3 a gallon. How are you going to feel at $20 a gallon?

6. Your world view is overly simplistic and naive and I find you entertaining.

7. Fuck it. I like numbered lists and I didn't want to stop just yet.

1.)I know that OPEC has little to do with Exxon bu THEY ARE BOTH GOUGING THE PRICES ...

2.)One Oil spill wouldn't cause that big of a disaster

3.)I highly doubt it would cause more things like 9/11's you worry about security too much.

4.)I don't care about share holders in Exxon or the people running OPEC they can go fuck themselves along with people who care too much about the environment.
My views might be a little extreme but the U.S. should have taken over the world when we found the atomic bomb. For years people looked for the ultimate weapon that is a weapon with the power to destroy the world WELL THE U.S. found it first. We should have told other countries you can do whatever you want BUT FUCK WITH US and YOU get one used on your country further we will put inspectors in your country and if you even think about making one will drop one on you hence you can't hide making a nuclear bomb you need fissionable material... You may say this sounds like Hitler but think about it people would fear to fuck with Americans and we wouldn't be worried about crazy countries with nuclear bombs

1. You won't last long here, enjoy your stay.

2. You are a complete idiot.

3. 1 oil spill can screw up and entire ecosystem, which in turn can effect a number of different things around the world.

4. Germans "found" (which should be invented not found but I'm coping you to point out that you are a dumbass) the possibility of the atomic bomb, their scientists defected and we perfected the technology.

5. Go kill yourself, make the world a better place.
