Gas mileage of an old Ford Tempo 1987?

With automatic transmission, very well tuned and with a conservative driving style? I've heard that these Fords deliver a horrible gas mileage, while others say that's not too bad...
Please tell me from your own experience!

the 4 cylilenders are all right not as good as the toyota s or hondas were but the v6 will drink back the fuel

It's about the same weight,size and same size motor as my old K-car (Plymouth Reliant) .
I was getting 22 MPG in the city, before the tranny went.

I haven't owned a ford for 20 years ; boy howdy, do I got some horror stories to tell about my Fords..........

most people get 25+ make sure the tune up is within the last 50,000

I had one a few years ago. loved it. it got great mileage until it got crunched sitting at a stop light.

My wife drive a 1987 tempo for six years without any problems , they are trust worthy cars and do get good gas milage,
