I have the answers, but I cant get further on these qestions then converting them into the proper units sooo
Just need someone to show me how to do them.
Dimethylmercury, C2H6Hg, is a highly volatile liquid with a vapor pressure of 58.8 torr at 23.7 degrees C. A 0.200g sample of liquid dimethylmercury is placed in a sealed vessel initially containing pure N2(g) at 0.965atm at 23.7 degrees C, and allowed to vaporize completely at this temperature. After vaporization, the pressure in the vessel was measured to be 1.011 atm.
A) how many grams of nitrogen gas are present in the vessel? (ANS: 0.510g)
B)In the above experiment dimethylmercury vaporized completely leaving no liquid phase behind, since the vessel is large enough to accommodate the entire 0.2g sample as vapour. If the vessel were smaller, only part of the sample would vapourize. What is the minimum volume of the vessel in which all of the dimethylmercury would vaporize? (ANS:0.273L)
