Garth Brooks was, is, and always will be the greatest country singer

Would tend to agree.

While I don't agree that much of today's country music is anything like country music of the past, I still enjoy alot of it.

Another good artist...Waylon Jennings.

I agree with him on most of country today. Since I stopped listening to it about four to f ive years ago, it has turned to pop. Granted there are a few good coountry musicians out there but it is mostly pop.

when I saw him in ATL at the George Strait festival back in 2000 or so, I was irritated at myself cause I kept finding myself entertained by Alan Jackson

oh. I also HATE that song he and George Strait did together, the 'they commited murder down on music row'

George Strait is one of my all time favorites, and hes done some awful songs as well

All of his acomplishments are impressive but at the end of his career, he no longer was a country singer. He was more pop and if you love/like him so much then you would know this. He is great and to you #1 but IMO not even close to #10.

We got owners, favorite drivers,
Boy, that Tony Stewart's a whiner.
An' we got rookies, advertisers,
**Like, uh, let's see: Havoline, Target, sharpie, Caterpiller, Nextel,
**Mountain Dew, DuPont, Lowes, Home Depot, Kodak,
**M&Ms, UPS, Tide, Alltel, Gillette, Kelloggs, Viagra, DeWalt, and uh Budweiser.
But the trophy girls still have my favorite parts.
Vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, I love NASCAR.

We got cautions, we got pitstops,
You can't hear a dang thing once the flag drops.
An' poor Cow Patty, an' swervin' Marlin, ha ha,
Are gonna find it tough to beat Mark Martin.
'Cause that Viagra car is always driven hard.
Vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, I love NASCAR.

I love that song. havent heard kid rock's cover, but long haried country boy is one of my all time favorites

Ive got 'good hearted woman' stuck in my head today.
