I have recently taken on an allotment in Coventry UK. I have just dug up a really unusual worm. It was about three inches long and had horizontal stripes of cream, lilac and pink of various lengths. I haven't seen anything like it before. Any ideas on what it might be?
Thank you

Your description sounds like it could be an 'Army Worm':

They are moth larvae (caterpillars)
