I move into my first house soon 
I have a big yard! And I want to start doing some light gardening. I would love to have flower beds along the front of my house, and possibly some kind of ivy/climbing flower on our cyclone fence. Only problem is, I have never ever did anything with flowers in my life. I don't know what will grow in my area, Northern Louisiana, it gets super hot and humid here in the summer. And can get pretty chilly in the winter. I would like flowers that will be pretty year round, if that is possible. The dirt in my yard has not been covered in grass yet, that is being done soon, so I have a good deal of time to plan. Any pointers, websites, or anything would be helpful!
