gardening for dummies?

trying to revive my garden ground is hard and have bought soil amender, top soil, manure, and compost. my husband is going to till it and im not sure in which order or i put all this stuff. i know im opening myself to a lot of criticism i am new to this and am trying to learn please be kind.
 
Get him to till it up first. He may need to make a few passes to get it workable. Take all of those amendments and spread them over the area in equal amounts and have him till that in. You should be ready to plant.
 
I'm no super expert but I don't think the order matters. The idea is to get everything all mixed up real good. So get everything in there and till it really well and I think you'll be fine.
