Hello to all.
Scaffolders are using my private garden to store their scaffolding without firstly getting my permission.
Can i ask for financial compensation for every day that it remains there?
For instance can i apply a tariff much the same way as a car park?
Anyone who can shed any light on this or has any advice would be much appreciated - thanks in advance.
Craig
Well, I am a home owner and the front garden is solely mine and marked clearly on the land registry. There is a property above me and we share a communal rear garden only. The neighboring property next to mine is owned by the local authority and they were carrying out repair works to the guttering. The contractors removed the scaffolding today and left the disassembled scaffolding in my garden. I did not consent to this and when I challenged the contractors they assured me it would be removed from my property by the end of the day. Time was ticking so I once again called their office very angry stating they were on private property. The next assurance they gave was that it would me removed by tomorrow morning , which will be highly unlikely as it is a Saturday. I am expecting it to be there until at least Monday and if so they have used my land for 3 days to store their equipment therefore I believe they should pay rent for the space. I just need to know what my rights are.
