Garden problems with Belgian Walloons again?

I weeded the darned thing and shoveled out some rocks I put in the corner for the time being. I live in north Belgium and we have the usual junk keeping our gardens busy - mice, rats, Brits, the French, and Walloons. Is there some sort of repellent I can buy to keep Walloons out of my garden? They sneak in there, eat my tomatoes and nibble on the carrots, usually I can just chase them away. But they've been getting frisky lately! Hit one over the head with a shovel and it just comes back with two or thee more. I guess I could keep one for a pet, but it'd just sit there in its cage and eat cabbage all day.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
