Garden party birthday?

I'm having a birthday party in august. Its going to be in my yard, which has a pond, a fountain, a vegetable garden, a bbq, etc, etc. Im planning on serving a 6 course summery meal. Its not going to be very big, only 13 people or so. im asking people to wear white with something colored, like a pair of shoes or a headband or something. does this sound fun/like a good idea?
 
It sounds really nice. If it will be in the evening you could have lots of candles and tea lights and even try to hang some Chinese paper lanterns. That would look pretty. Sounds like a nice birthday party to me. Have fun!
 
sounds like fun, what about hats?
people could wear colorful summer hats.

another idea, if you make a cake make it look like a garden by putting crushed oreos on top and make lines in it so it looks like dirt ready to be planted,
