hmmm.. and isn't it Samsung's policy that usually you can install new apps only via OTA [over the air] transmission[gprs/edge], unless you modify the FW?

Before you update Firmware!
Same procedure as ever...
Known from other Samsung Qualcomm... Like:
U700

1. U need Qualcomm Driver...
2. www.bitpim.org
3. Codes for Admin menu () Check FAQ for U700...
Little problem seems to be. That not all FW Versions runs... Vodafone is okay.
Same procedure as ever...
