Game programmer needs phone

Hey. I'm a professional game developer, and I'm in the market for a new phone.

I'd like a phone that allows me a lot of freedom to interface with it. Are there any phones out there that offer a lot of freedom to put stuff from my computer onto it, like Java games, backgrounds and ringtones? I understand that this is something of a rarity, because controlled content = money for big companies, but I was hoping there might be something out there I could use.

I don't care about cameras, mp3s, video, or anything like that. I just want to be able to put Java games and MIDIs from my computer onto a phone. What are my options for phones, and/or software applications and/or cables I would need?

I'm in the Pacific Northwest, and I was looking into Cingular as a service provider.

Looks like either a Windows Mobile or perhaps a Symbian phone would be your best bet. I would look in the S60 and Pocket PC fourms here and see if you run into anything you like. My first thought would be one of the Nokia E series phones.

any Motorola is very moddable in terms of the interface, but the UI isn't as good to begin with as other phones.
