I noticed two nights ago that there were three game demos in my downloads folder. I of course had not downloaded them so followed the link and found them all to be associated with Rogers!? I deleted them in my service books and after a battery pull...surprise! They are all back..... Has anyone else noticed these items (poker, etc) being pushed to their devices? If you havent noticed, take a look in your service books for them...they may be there.

Thanks for unwanted junk Rogers

Cheers!

Same thing happened to me. Its really annoying to get junk software pushed to my phone by Rogers. As if it isn't enough we get junk messages. The worst part is you can't delete them, at least I haven't found a way yet.

I've heard from some Blackberry owners that if you delete the Blackberry Application Center, either from Desktop Manager or by going to Settings--> Options--> Advanced Options--> Applications and deleting it from there, that you might not get apps pushed from your provider. I don't have it installed and on AT&T I've never had apps pushed to me.

Update. #@$#&*()$#&*()$#*()$#*()%&#%&# ARRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

they are there, some crap poker game, and 3 other stupid apps.

UN-FREAKING-ACCEPTABLE.

I am calling Roger's tonight.

Tmobile is doing the same crap on the new bold 9700 that I got. Its about 10 games that I would never buy. I asked a cs person to see if they could stop pushing those service books to me and they said they can't, which in my opinion is bs since I don't want it. I have the icons hidden but I'm going to try the removal of app center and see if that helps.

Oh, here we go again...dear Rogers...get this crap off my phone. I talked to Rogers about all the latest shortcut d/l's in my folder and their response was "those are a direct push from RIM"...all I know is that you cannot delete, only hide.

Pretty unbelievable isn't it!

BTW, update...removal of the apps centre does not help in removal of the "pushed" contect.

Just freakkin' lovely!

I saw something on my phone last week and hit the roof. I deleted it immediately and then waited patiently, albeit, swearing on the phone as I listened to that crappy "on hold" music. Finally got to a tech and although I know there is nothing they can/would do, it made me feel better after yelling. Funny thing is, they were supposedly introducing their "My Account" app and I've had that on my BB for weeks now and here they go, claiming it's new.

Frustrating doesn't cover it. I sure as hell don't believe it's not them "pushing" these apps, nor do I believe, they have no control over it being done either.
