I had my gallbladder removed laparoscopely 11 days ago I was taken back in with pain and vomiting and sent home again I now have to see a gastroenterologist as the surgeons have said the GB pain was masking another problem. I am unable to eat when I do I get sick and the pain is terrible has anyone else suffered the same symptoms and gotten to the bottom of it also it seems to be taking longer than normal to get over the operation :p

It takes 4-6 weeks to get over the surgery so 11 days is nowhere near that. Abdominal swelling, gas pains - intestinal and shoulder - internal bruising, incision site tenderness, etc all take time to go away.

Thank you the doc told me I would be back to work in ten days but I am only just getting around the house I didnt think it would be so painful as it was key hole

Some people just tolerate it better. I jogged 2 miles a week to the day after having mine out. It was sore - and it hurt to do, but I did it. My surgeon told me to start back whenever I felt up to it and so I did. I went back to work on the 2nd day after surgery for 1/2 day and then full time the day after that. Of course, I came home and darned near went straight to bed but I did it. (I can be very stubbron!)

You have to remember that even though it was keyhole, it is considered major surgery...especially when they take an organ out of your body. The rest of your organs now have to learn to compensate for your gallbladder being gone. Watch the fatty and spicy foods for awhile.
