Galaxy vs Omnia 2

Ok guys, I know these phones aren't new or anything spectacular but I'm wondering what your opinions are with these phones.

I played with both briefly and I wasn't really impressed with omnia 2's speed. It seemed very sluggish but the screen was a badass. Also typing on it was slower.

Galaxy seemed a bit quicker and typing was faster although both keyboards are pretty cramped. Not to keen on all the buttons of Galaxy and it feels cheap.

I have an iphone and 9700. I've never used android nor wimo so I'd like to try it out without going bankrupt. Anyway let me know what you guys think about these phones.

thanks

I would prefer the Galaxy between the two. But if you can find the Galaxy Spica which has the same processor as the Omnia 2, it would even be better. Yes, the Galaxy feels quicker even if the processor is a lot slower than on the Omnia 2. That's because of the Android OS. Many of the reports I get about WinMo phones being converted to Android also seems to point this out.

Personally, I would prefer a non Samsung approach to Android, like any of the cheaper HTC if you are budget conscious. The most recommended choices for Android would be the Nexus One or the Motorola Milestone if you want the best.

Going Android bodes well also for the budget conscious, because there is a huge resource of excellent free apps.

the Galaxy Spica only has 128mb of ram, I think the Galaxy is just plain quicker... not sure if the ram would make a difference or not.
