Gage's nuts dissapeared.

Today Gage had his appt and everything was gravy aside from that his nuts have vanished. The doc thought she could sort of feel one up above his junk, but the other.... :mystery:

f a baby's testicle has not descended on its own within the first 6 months of life, the boy should undergo evaluation by a pediatric specialist and treatment if the condition is confirmed. This usually involves surgically repositioning the testicle into the scrotum.

Treatment is necessary for several reasons:

* The higher temperature of the body may inhibit the normal development of the testicle, which could impair normal production of sperm in the undescended testicle in the future, which could lead to infertility.
* The undescended testicle is at a greater risk to form a tumor than the normally descended testicle.
* The undescended testicle may be more vulnerable to injury or testicular torsion.
* An asymmetrical or empty scrotum may cause a child worry and embarrassment.
* Sometimes boys with undescended testicles develop inguinal hernias.

If surgery is done, it's likely that doctors will perform an orchiopexy, in which a small cut is made in the groin and the testicle is brought down into the scrotum where it is fixed (or pexed) in place. Doctors typically do this on an outpatient basis, and most boys recover fully within a week.

Its weird though because his nuts have never been missing before. They are just all the sudden missing. And since one of them isnt even palpable it would mean digging around to find the damn thing. Also.....this is something normally done on babies. Not on 4 year olds who can protest. And dig at stuff. He has an appt in late sept with a pediatric urology specialist to try and find the missing nad and figure out what were going to do.

Btw...after telling a kid for 4 years that NO ONE is supposed to touch your junk, its impossible to get him to let the doc feel his junk.

This is seriously crappy, Lyn, I hope he gets his nuts back soon.

I think I know why they left...

Nah, :joke: ^^

Hopefully, he won't need surgery, but if he does I hope they knock him out good. On the bright side, he knows that "no" means "sometimes" now.

Did he get kicked or hit there lately? My brother had an incident a couple years ago where a kid knocked him down on the school bus and kicked him there so hard that it shoved one of his testicles back up into that spot where they drop from. He had to get it taken back out.

Swah...I actually asked the doc if maybe he was just cold, and she said she should have felt *something* so Im hoping maybe thats it when he sees the specialist and its just a Doc inexperienced with super cold nuts?

Hrly: Yeah, and seeing as how another doc needs to feel them up in sept??....Im just hoping he doesnt go to school talking about people grabbing his junk.

Bath..Nope...he got one scratched by the cat a week or so ago but hes never really been racked or anything.

I didn't even know this could happen.

I hope he's alright though, he'll get through it, from the things you tell me. He seems like a fighter.

I guess it's just now getting him into doctors/surgery, if he needs it.

Man, I don't know about any of the other guys here, but hearing about some kid getting deuced so hard he loses his balls made me get that sick-to-your-stomach-after-getting-hit-in-the-nuts feeling. I HATE that... obviously... I mean it's not like it tickles.

Yeah I...retrieved it, for lack of better term, it just sorta went back down. I think I just slept at a weird angle, or it was cold, or maybe just 6 more weeks of winter, fuck if I know. Nothing I needed surgery for, though having just woken up, it scared the hell out of me.

That's the universal testicle in action. For those of you who don't already know, the universal testicle is a giant ethereal nad in the sky that acts as a spiritual link between every man's nuts. It's the reason we always wince in empathetic pain when we see another man get kicked in the junk.
