I've been thoroughly impressed with his roles in Bad Education, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Amores Perros and The Motorcycle Diaries. Do we think he'll get his very much deserved oscar nod for Babel?

I'm in mexico at the moment, and its getting a lot of hype... What does everyone else think? Does he deserve it?

I love him, he is ridiculously gorgeous, has a great sense of humour and he is a great actor. I haven't seen babel but, I hate the "trend" of the ensemble cast, life-interlocking genre of film.

I doubt Gael will be noticed in a film with Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt.

For once we have an actor that although blessed with good looks, also has the acting talent behind him.

He is a great actor and has carefully selected some good roles.

I just hope that he does not get swamped by Hollywood and continue to star good quality, interesting films.

I saw The Science of Sleep at the weekend, and it was absolutely beautiful. I'd highly recommend it...

I have seen him in The Science of Sleep and Babel- both completely different characters and yet he masters them both so welll... hope to see more of him in the future!

I thought he may have played the nephew of the Mexican nanny, but I can't really remember much about him or his performance.

If so, I'm surprised he'd be up for an oscar for such a small role.

I adore Gael. He's a great actor as he demonstrated in "La mala educacion" but...come on now. Por favor! He was in "Babel" for a total of 10 minutes if that.

Ooh there's a thread on Gael! One of my favourite actors. :) Looking forward to seeing his new film with his amigo Diego Luna as well as the one he directed.
