In June 2006 I had an MRI( with Gadolinium based contrast agent) for a possible inner ear problem. As it turned out there was no inner eat problem.
However, about 2 weeks later I fished a bass tournament, by that afternoon I was getting sick and feeling really bad. I didn't know if I was having a stroke or heart attack or what was happening to me.
When I got back to the boat ramp, I had to literally crawl out of the boat onto the dock. When I finally got to the point I able to get up, I could barely walk. I had to walk a good 50 yards to my truck. That night I had chills and fever the entire night. By noon the next day I was feeling a little better.
Within the next several months I had experienced many different sensations ..such as I could hardly talk, couldn't remember what I wanted to say, eyes seemed to jiggle in my head, had a burning sensation all over my body, etc.
Now I have developed this red rash on my body...that does not go away. It has what appears to be tiny dark red speck marks within the red areas. Its worse on the upper torso, front and back, and the arms; but the rash seems to come and go on the legs. The face has developed some dark red spots and the feet, legs and ankles get real tight and swell often. Also have problems with the knees and getting around.
Now here it is 3 years after this MRI, and I am still having sensations. Having problems walking, losing my balance, having to sleep on my back. During the night if I happen to roll over to either side I wake up dizzy and disorientated. I just can't seem to get my head straight, it feels like its just 'loose' on my body for the lack of a better explanation.
I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that has experienced any of these same problems after being injected with a gadolinium based brown dye agent, during an MRI.
