Anyone else heard of this condition?
I am of 100% mediterranean (Italian) descent. Supposedly Mediterraneans are the highest risk group.
I just randomly found out about this common blood disorder. I suspect I may have some degree of it because of a serious reaction I had to Ibuprofren years ago which landed me in the hospital.
Other reasons I think I may have it is I went through quite a long stretch of oxidative-stress inducing activities, ever since then I have not been able to bounce back--the theory runs that you "use up" the G6PD enzyme in oxidative stress, which eventually leads to fatigue and generally negative effects on well-being.
Anyone know anything about this?
