G2 Vs. Samsung Vibrant

It really wouldn't matter to me who "makes" it (Google + Manufacturer). As long as its a big step forward from where I'm at now. And, it's vanilla or/and has an optional/additional Google UI topping. I'm an Online PC gamer when it comes to games. So I can afford to wait on a substantial amount of improvement where CPU,GPU & screens are concerned. I feel Google is already doing a good job with the OS. Actually, I think the apps,... "however increasing as they are, and some very good apps are being developed", is the area of the bottleneck at the moment. That being said,... I would rather that be the bottleneck, because,... I feel that, that would be the least costly, easily changable problem area.

I don't think there will be to many more vanilla android phones unless google decides to make another Nexus. All you need to do is install ADW or Launcher Pro to get rid of the ui. I didn't jump on the G2 even though it has pretty good Quadrant scores, I think it was 1499 while my N1 scores consistent 1636, so I why would I upgrade to a slower phone even though it will be an HSPA + phone. I'm waiting for a dual core mosnter with 4" plus screen. I like a keyboard but have learned to live with out it.

I don't have any inside information (yet) but I think it will b twice as powerful as todays phones meaning, 2ghz processor, 1 gb's of RAM. And since its Google, it'll b vanilla guaranteed.

I was in the same predicament but my G1 broke like 2 weeks ago so I really didnt have much of a choice but to update to the Vibrant and I couldnt be more pleased. I know youve heard it plenty of times but that Super AMOLED screen is simply amazing... Even compared to the Iphone 4s sharp quality the Vibrants display is still unmatched in my books.

I guarantee you with Swype you wont need a physical keyboard anymore, I was a disbeliever at first but not anymore. No LED notification is irritating at first but within a couple of days I got into the habit of just turning the screen on from time to time. The browser already loads websites pretty fast over 3G, so it should be more than enough for a regular user. Touchwiz is also a lot better than I expected it to be. It takes the 2 default Android apps that needed spicing up (Calendar and Music) and spiced them up nicely.

So pretty much if I were you I'd get the Vibrant lol...

Hey guys. So i took the plunge and got a vibrant! I love it so far, and the GPS works the same way it did on the mytouch, takes a few tries to locate you, if your moving fast or inside. DJ i just downloaded the NoLED from the market, I haven't gotten a text yet to see how it works, or if it works at all. I will say that this picture quality is awesome, Also i did a music quality sound check.

I listened to a song with my earphones on the vibrant, then used the same earphones and listened to the same song on my Ipod. Vibrant PWNED the Ipod. lol.

Down with Apple, Android shall rule all!!!!
