G1 bypass activation problem

Hi, first of all i have read this thread as well as other in several forums and i can't get the G1 to change to adb debugging mode. This is the first time i try this so maybe someone has a different trick. Phone had originally RC30 firmware so i downgraded it. If i type reboot phone reboots, so this is OK, but when i type setprop persist.service.adb.enable 1 nothing happens, i have tried several times, with and without sd card and sim card, just nothing happens. For those with more experience with these phones, what could be the problem?

Personally i do not follow this trick.

what i do exactly as below.

1.Downgrade to lower version.

2.Gain root access

3.Flash modified recovery image.

after flash a moded recovery image,
you will be able to skip google activation
make/restore backup.

and so on...

Hi...

Did you try to change USB port?

If your phone already RESTART when you do this reboot... your DONE ... No need tricks, just focus to the Phone to PC communication. restart or change PC
