G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)- 1/14 (repeat) Episode Discussion

I also hope they do that too. Of course i would love to see them have Homer apolgize about Fox teasing us like that before the trailer starts as yet another way to mock Fox.

I noticed this in the credits. Kiefer's character continues to say "front line infantry" as the names appear. He got to his name as guest star, and he said "Coast Guard". There was another one where he said, "Navy"

The episode was good. I've also noticed the political commentary more and more this season.

I knew something wrong would go with the bullies and Bart and Milhouse

Kiefer was great in the episode.

I know what you guys mean about the trailer, it was a bit disappointing because I thought we would get a full trailer. It just seemed like a teaser for the movie. Hopefully when the movie is approaching they come out with another longer trailer.

This was the first time I got to watch the entire episode in its entirety. I thought the part where the helicopter was flying around Homer was kind of funny. I thought it was cute when he dressed up as a male helicopter.

I thought the episode was pretty good and had more obvious political commentary, which is starting to become a trend so far this season. I thought Kiefer was great in the episode. As for the trailer, i thought it was alright, but felt disappointed by it.

The -ding means nothing. Superintendent Chalmers doesn't want to believe he's bald. So by saying "balding", he's in the process of going bald but in his mind, he isn't totally bald.

Skinner is just agreeing with Chalmers.

Here is whole dialog:

Chalmers: I am not bald. I am balding!

Chalmers: Ugh, why will no one honor the "-ding"?

Skinner: I honor the "-ding", sir.

Chalmers: The hell are you talking about?

Is it a kind of play upon worRAB? Or it means nothing?

I forgot about that until they mentioned it in the episode.

I thought FINALLY Bart and Milhouse could get back at the bullies working at the shoe store - spoke too soon.

What kind of episodde was that it had a 7 seven minutes of tom and jerrry filler. I was really dissappointed. I've watch the Simpsons since I was 8 in 1990(I missed the first season) and loved every episode but that sucked. I actually thought about changing the channel. It was not Simpson hummor at all. Its like the writers took a day off and the mail boy had to finish the episode. The trailer was similar with the crane having a mind of its own, but I don't think that is actually in the movie it looked like it was just for a teaser. It was almost family guy like, which is good but in a different way. Don't get me wrong the episode was funny but it wasn't Simpson funny. Man thats this is the first time I was ever dissappointed this much. I actually just now joined this forum just to gripe.

The episode is pretty funny. The moment with US Army and russian song is awesome.
Sorry for possible off-topic question, but I'm not actually a native English speaker, so can anybody explain me two moments:

The first:
What did Lenny mean about Marmaduke? Does the word "wang" means that, you know...
The second:
What did Skinner mean here: I honor the "-ding", sir.

It was a fairly amusing episode.

I was dissappointed with the movie trailer. It just wasn't enough...I wanted to see like a long movie trailer. Find out what the movie is about and random clips. Instead, it seemed like Fox just slapped something together.

Looking forward to see Kiefer guest star :)

Yep this will be the second time that Homer is in the armed forces, can't wait to see him in basic training.
