my grandfather used to tell me proudly that we are of Slav origin and that we have no connection with the Macedonians, which where a Greek tribe and inhabited the area centuries before we did. i have heard that from many elder people (and Kiro Gligorov).
i am a bit confused, because elder people and young ones have a totally different perspective upon the issue. by the historic point of view Greeks are right and we have been forced to change our minds and believe that we are Macedonians, even though of Slav origin, elders say.
shouldn't we have a DNA test or something so as to have a straight basis? is it right to have bad relations with the Greeks due to a stolen name, despite our successful propaganda in most countries?
