FYI E61, E70, N80, N91 Users: Voice + WiFi @ the same time!

Hey,

Did you guys know that you can surf the net while you're on a call?

ShaolinMonk first brought this to my attention from his E61 so I tested it and it works on my E70-2.

Haven't seen any posts/topics about this here so I thought I'd make one

This is GSM + WLAN, not GSM + GPRS/EDGE.

My next question would be if the newer firmwares allow SIM free WLAN? I remember older firmwares not allowing this on certain devices, but is it supported now?

my n91/n80/n93 can all use wlan without sim...however i couldnt use fota on my n80 without a sim~

That doesn't mean anything. K790a's, w810i's and just about every other late 2006 mid/high-range non-smartphone can multitask....some even better than Symbian (ie. apps don't close without notice)

Anyways, I'm glad those who knew, know, but this is really for those who don't know.

I don't think any other userface can multitask as easily as these Symbian phones do, but that's a topic for another thread.

And yes, my N80 is able to use both WLAN and bluetooth without a simcard inserted. It just asks "allow connection while in offline mode" beforehand.
