Futurama - "The Late Phillip J. Fry" - Talkback [7/29]

This was the best episode of the season (so far). Only Professor Farnesworth would be crazy enough to invent a time machine that only goes forward in time. I guess that he was so spooked by the events of "Roswell That Ends Well" that he didn't want a repeat of that, but did he ever think about how he was going to return?

Typical how Fry, being the nice guy that he is, didn't get mad at Bender, even though it was completely his fault why Fry was late for work and also late for his date with Leela. It was also classic Bender how he ruined their chances of returning home in the era of the sexy female scientists (who had a backwards time machine!) just because he was angry with Fry and Farnesworth for not letting them stay in the robot controlled future, which he liked.

It was also interesting to see how far into the future they could go before the universe and all life on it ended. it's good to know that the human race will still be around in the years 10,000 and 1,000,000 A.D.! Fry, Farnesworth and Bender saw the end (and the subsequent restart) of the universe, but I guess they may not remember it now, since they stopped themselves from going forward in time in the 1st place.

Other highlights: Leela taking over Planet Express and turning it into a highly successful company in the Professor's absence. In the year 3030, Leela marrying (and divorcing) an adult Cubert, being a clone of the Professor, I guess he just reminded her of Fry. An older Amy with a robot body, Dr. Zoidberg still hanging around Planet Express, despite his being fired by Leela years ago and an older Hermes being a head in a jar on top of a pogo stick!

One of my favorite parts was when Fry, Farnsworth and Bender arrived at a time when half of humanity had evolved into diminutive, hyper-intelligent elves who said that they could have a backwards time machine ready in 5 years time, so our heroes moved forward 5 years only to discover that the elves had all been beaten to death by the brutish knuckle-dragging morlocks who made up the other half of humanity.

they remember seeing as how there from an entirely different tim period which is kinda confusing since lets put it this way what they witnessed is a Cyclical time line where it repeats itself after a period of time a cycle certainly akin to that of a Phoenix it dies and is reborned from its ashes unlike that of a phoenix no one keeps past memories from the repeating timeline.

Basically they traveled so far in time that it reset not once but twice but seeing there from a different reset than the other fry, bender and proffseor it doestn affect them. Its weird i know.

Anyways this episode explores time travel a different way and it totally fits Futurama to a T 5/5 the best of the new futurama so far.

That was a cute episode. Can't say that about many Futurama episodes. I think the last one I thought was cute was the one where Lela ate the jelly.

Loved Bender at the end. :D
