Futurama finally makes its triumphant return on Comedy Central with a one-hour premiere tonight at 10PM Eastern. In the first episode of two, the Planet Express crew is reborn.
 
I'm not entirely sure this is really going to be that good. I mean, it's been 7 years, and the movies were hit-and-miss. But hey, the entire cast is confident the new season is the best they've ever done, and I don't think they'd lie to the fans.
 
Of course it's not going to be as good as the original run, what show is? But I think there's still going to be some memorable moments in the new run. I mean, even though new Family Guy's not up to par with the first three seasons, there's still great moments in the current day stuff.

I just hope that Comedy Central doesn't dictate that Futurama has to up the gross out humor to the level of their other shows.
 
No these are actual regular new episodes. To start out we're getting a double part season premiere that picks off after the events of the last DTV "Into The Wild Green Yonder" and then we're getting the regular one part 22 minute episodes.

I'm looking forward to this considering I did like the DTVs I saw (Mainly "Bender's Big Score". Didn't see all of "The Beast with A Million Backs" or "Bender's Game" though. That reminds me though: Based off "The Devils Are Idle Playthings" and "Bender's Big Score" how come Leela and Fry aren't an offical couple? How many times does it need to be smacked in our faces they're supposed to be together and nothing happens with that anyway?).
 
As said, Futurama works better as 22-minute episodes instead of sweeping, feature-length films. Here's hoping the magic is back this time around.
 
Nice opening. Can't believe Fry and Professor were the only survivors. I hope Leela's memory isn't erased so we can continue the Fry/Leela relationship.
