A new episode of Futurama premieres tonight at 10PM Eastern on Comedy Central. This week, Bender learns that he suffers from a mortal manufacturing defect.

Some people refer to it as the War of Jedi Agression, or the War of Sith Rebellion.

Bender's a living Tachikoma. And he's not even technically living.

That old guy from "How Hermes Requisitioned his Groove Back" finally made it to the front of the line.

Paul Lynde/Hollywood Squares reference.

I enjoyed the callbacks to "How Hermes Requisitioned his Groove Back." The continuity nods is candy to a continuity nut like me.

They have phone booths in the future?

And now a callback to the original pilot. Neat.

The Mom Corporation's policy is "If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, I hate you."

It's cool that we finally get an ep. pairing Hermes and Bender. He's already been paired with everyone else at one point I think.

SOMEONE SAID FIRE!!!!

I laughed too hard at that.

In the background: "Adobe Photo Shoppe."

Killbots have a preset kill limit! Just send wave after wave of men at them!

SOMEONE SAID HOWITZER!

Now that was a twist.

That was quite a shock there. Who knew Hermes was the one who approved of Bender's creation? I kept wondering why all records of Inspector Five had disappeared. Well, I guess we've now gotten a little more character development here.

Still, let me understand this. Bender's defect was that he was made without a back-up system to transfer his programming into a new body? Doesn't seem like much of defect to me. Even without that program, Bender can still last for a long time, Bender's Big Score being proof. The question is, now that the world thinks Bender Rodrigez is dead, what will Bender do?

Great, great episode tonight. The ending was really sweet, classic Futurama.

According to the writers, next week is supposed to be one of the best episodes of the season and the one submitted for Emmy consideration.

This has to be the best episode of the season. It has that fun, exciting, & heartwarming feel that makes Futurama great. Yeah the first act had a slow build up with a few chuckles but it picked up in the second act with nods to previous episodes with the third act filled with action, comedy, and a twist ending I didn't see coming. I also liked how the episode had Hermes & Bender as the main focus and their development.

Grade: A

SOMEONE SAID SHOOT!

Thinking back on it, wasn't Bender's "birth" a flashback from his own perspective? If so, the possibly continuity problem could be explained away by Bender's grandiose tendencies...

I really didn't expect that to be a character development episode, but it worked very well. It shows that the same Hermes that almost willingly launched his cowerkers into the sun (See The Farnsworth Parabox) is capable of some kindness. My favorite episode so far this season.

"SOMEONE SAID HOWITZER!"

As always, Futurama knows just the right song to elicit the proper emotion for its "sweet" endings (remember "Baby Love Child" at the end of "Leela's Homeworld"?). I just wonder if Hermes getting his nametag scanned at the end will have repurcussions in future episodes.
