Futurama: 10 Years of Biting Shiny Metal Asses

Okay, with also Family Guy's 10th anniversary just passed, it time for Futurama to have it's credit due.

10 years of the best future animated show that I've ever seen.

And now, let's remember the past....

Remember when Bender's first line was "Bite my shiny metal ass!"?

Remember when Fox didn't really give a crap about this show by putting it on crappy timeslots, not unlike Family Guy?

Remember when Lucy Liu apeeared in a shrugging episode that I don't want to watch?

Remember Fry's dog Seymour, who died waiting for Fry to come home ever since Fry went into the future?

Remember the Anthology Of Intrest I and II, when 3 of the stories were all about Fry, Bender and Leela?

Remember when it was frequently polayed on not only Adult Swim, but TBS?

Remember when some people said that Futurama was actually better than The Simpsons?

What are your rememberances?

Futurama is one of the cartoons that influenced my drawing style, so it always holds a special place in my heart. At least, the original 72 episodes do. If they're planning on bringing it back, they'll have to crank up the writing from the DVD movies.

BTW, TC, Bender says "Bite my shiny metal ass." Any TRUE Futurama fan would know that.

Futurama is a great series. It's the only show I know that can make me roll on the floor laughing one minute and have me wiping away a tear the next.

Unfortunately, I don't think the series works in movie form. The four movies tried so hard to make things so epic and cram so many characters in that they just fell totally flat for me. Hopefully if the rumored TV revival comes about the show will be able to resume its former glory. If not, I'd honestly prefer the show stays dead.

Oh, I remember staying in my parent's room on Sunday nights watching the Futurama, with the door locked because I thought the show was really bad for me, though in retrospect it really wasn't.

Happy 10th aniversary Futurama, may the world remember you for another 190 decades.
