Hello, I had fusion on L5 S1 almost nine months ago. I wish I could say everything is GREAT. But I would be lying. I still have back pain, somedays its not so bad, better pre op. But somedays its just as bad before surgery. The real pain is the nerve pain in both legs, right now the right leg is worse. This pain will be better somedays and then just hit me otherdays. I thought backpain was bad, nerve pain is ten times worse.
So where I am at: I saw my surgeon this week, he did an xray and wants a ct scan next week. He said that he wants to make sure there is nothing else going on with my back, if he sees nothing then he said the nerve pain very well may be permament.
I am not very happy as you can imagine with his answers. I dont know if anyone remerabers me but this surgeon is not the easiest guy to talk to and ask questions to. But he is who I picked to do the surgery. I don't think he did a bad job but I need answers now and I don't feel like I get them.
I do see a pm doctor but he basically just rxed meRAB, he seems to be playing hanRAB off since the surgery, its like he didn't do the surgery so he refers me to the surgeon in fact everyone does that!
The surgeon did say he saw some slight fusion, first they had seen at all.
So, I will get the ct scan done and go from there.
Thanks for reading, any advice is always appreciated.
