Hi all,
I have been on here before. I am a 58 yr. old woman that had a double fusion with cages ,roRAB and screws back in 2006. Although it helped with the leg pain on my left leg, I was left woth terrible back pain. And now I went to a spine specialist the other day, and he said I have severe scoliosis. He thinks its due to the fusion. My pain has been so bad that nothing will help. I go to pain management and am on methadone with oxicodoneIR for breakthrough pain and also hydrocodone if needed. (neurontin also). Anyway, the spine Dr. just didn't hesitate to say I have to have surgery to get this fixed. I want it fixed but I am almost afraid of another failure. I had a major surgery for a gastric problem about six months ago. So I am still reeling from that. I guess I am wondering if anyone has developed this problem after a fusion an their back? It is awful -and I am bending to the right side of my body and forward! I have to see him again to get some more tests done. Hope someone can tell me if these kind of surgeries have a success rate or not. Scoliosis anyone?? Need some advice. boomer
