For a while now I've had an idea for an episode of ABC's remake of the 1980s show "V" anyway, in a few of the episodes there's a few reptile related jokes and pop culture references tossed around such as the movie Independence Day being mentioned in the Pilot episode. Needless to say, I came up with a few jokes and references for my own script such as:
"I've watched Men In Black enough times to know how this works."
"Hey, the Bronx zoo called, they want their star attraction back."
"You better not tell anybody! you hear me, you overgrown Iguana?!"
"Oh look, Petco has leopard Geckos on sale."
Here's another one during a conversation between a V and human.
(Talking about the Central Park zoo)
Human character: "We're not going to be anywhere near the Reptile house."
V character: (sarcastically) "Right sure, you call it a reptile house. I call it a family reunion!"
"Hey Godzilla, how about giving me a lift?"
"Ya know, you're not so bad... for a komodo dragon."
"Are your eyes that big or are you just glad to see me?"
"Every dog has his day."
Human character(male): "Ya know I'm really glad you decided to come with us this time."
Female V: "You mean that?"
Human character: "Sure, who knows? we might need somebody who can speak Alligator."
---
V: "Come'on, this'll be fun, let's look at it as a chance for adventure."
Human: "Forget it, the last time somebody said that I woke up in the Florida Everglades."
"Can we make this quick? Nightline's on in twenty minutes."
This is just to name a few, but I'll try to think of other ones. Another gag in the script is a scene were one of the human characters in the show is in the driver's seat of a parked car with a V sitting next to him. The guy turns on the radio and "Walk the Dinosaur" by Was Not Was is playing, so the whole thing is very awkward.
Anyway, I thought these jokes and references were pretty funny.
Anyone else think so?
