Funniest Ending Gags in Animation

If it counts, then the end credits of Transformers Animated season 2's A Bridge too Far part 2 would be mine.

Interesting fact, the entire monologue was ad libed.

If not, then I can't really think of any myself.

I've been rewatching SpongeBob on DVD lately and in general that show has quite a few funny ending jokes. Some I haven't mentioned yet:

"Dumped": As SpongeBob and Gary reconcile and leave, Gary stands there in his underpants and says, "Gary?.... I thought what we had was SPECIAL!!!!!" (fade out) I don't know why this gets me to laugh. Maybe it's the fact that he's yelling this in his underwear, or that it abruptly fades out.

"Opposite Day": Squidward yells, "HAPPY OPPOSITE DAY!!!!" as he chases SpongeBob and Patrick with a bulldozer. His delivery is what makes it work.

"The Fry Cook Games": Patrick and SpongeBob leave the stadium in their underpants, friends again. Patrick remarks about his yellow underwear: "You know, these were white when I bought 'em." Eeeeeehehehewwwwww...

"Squid's Day Off": The visual of Squidward's face deflating. So silly looking, and I like how he remains smiling throughout.

"Krusty Krab Training Video": As already mentioned, the end to this is gold, especially since they built it up all throughout the episode. "The Krabby Patty Secret Recipe i-" (cuts off)

"Grandma's Kisses": SpongeBob hugs his grandma; we hear Squidward and the Krusty Krab customers from earlier laughing at them from outside. What makes it work is that Squidward starts off with a small chuckle and it builds to crowd laughter as everyone's revealed.

"Procrastination": Much like "Squid's Day Off", it ends with SpongeBob ripping in half like a piece of paper after being told all his hard work on the essay was for nothing, smile still on his face.

"I'm With Stupid": "Oh that's right, honey, we don't HAVE a son." "Oh yeah." (Patrick's "parents" walk off) One of the most surreal endings ever.

"Bubble Buddy": A bubble floats up to Squidward's face, and he says, "Uh... hi?"

"Karate Choppers": Sandy: "I love karate!"
SpongeBob: "I love kara-tay!"
Mr. Krabs: "I love money-ay!"
Squidward: "I hate all of you."

Good ol' Squidward.

"Doing Time": After about the fourth "it was only a dream" as Mrs. Puff is falling, she says, "Oh forget it!" Fade to black. I love how the story itself just says, "screw it."

"Squid on Strike": Mr. Krabs: "In order to pay off the damages on me restaurant, you two are gonna work for me FOREVER!"
SpongeBob: "Ya-hoo! The strike worked, Squidward! We've got our jobs back, forever!"

"Forever!" echoes in Squidward's mind; narrator says "One Eternity Later" and we cut to a skull and bones of Squidward and SpongeBob in the Krusty Krab. Besides the obvious LOL WUT joke that it's impossible to have a "later" when it comes to eternity, as it's never-ending, I find it amusing that SpongeBob, a sponge, has bones. :p

Oh yeah, just remembered another ATHF ending gag I liked:

I don't remember what the episode was exactly about, but at the end Frylock is putting a TV into the living room and Meatwad is sitting in the chair commenting "But I thought you said TV was bad for us...". Frylock responds with "Oh, it is....but we ____ing need it!"

Just the complete and abrupt 180 of the episode's message left me laughing for a good while after

Looney Tunes: 'Duck Amuck": After Daffy can't take any more from the unseen cartoonist, he demands that the cartoonist shows himself. the cartoonist paints a door in front of Daffy, the camera pans out and it turns out to be Bugs Bunny who turns to the camera and says; "Ain't I a stinker"

I can't help but laugh every time I see it.

"Porky Pig's Feat": Daffy and Porky are locked in their hotel room because they can't pay the bill, then Daffy suggests they call Bugs Bunny on the phone for help.

Daffy: "Hello Bugs, this is Daffy."
Bugs: "Ehh whats up Duck?"
Daffy: "That palooka manager has got us locked up in the Broken Arms Hotel. We thought you could help us get out."
Bugs: "Eh, did you try the elevator?"
Daffy: "Yes."
Bugs: "Throw him down the stairs?"
Daffy: "Yes."
Bugs: "Use the sheets?"
Daffy: "Yes."
Bugs: "Swing across on the ropes?"
Daffy: "Yes. We tried all those ways."
(The Door to the next room opens reveling that Bugs is locked up in the hotel too)
Bugs: "Ah, don't work, do they?"

:D

The Simpsons: "Bart the Murder":

Homer: "You know who the real crooks are. Those sleazy Hollywood Producers."
Then the "Executive Producers" credits fades in in front of Homer's face. :D

"Drip-Along Daffy" - Making good on his promise to "clean up this one-horse town", Drip-Along becomes a sanitation worker. Comedy Relief (Porky), the new Sheriff, points out, "Lucky for him, it is a one-horse town".

Laugh out loud funny, and a rare, genuinely hilarious bit of toilet humor. Nothing is shown, only implied.

From the ATHF episode Baloonenstien
Shake: And thank you Lord, for giving me the power and the intelligence to open the sky with my mind and save everyone from danger. Amen. The end.
Frylock: What about Meatwad?
Shake: What about him? He?s gone. Look, we got his dream, we?ll just make another one... somehow.
Frylock: Uh huh.
Shake: Don?t make me open the sky again. Cuz I WILL do it if you anger me.
Frylock: Okay okay, let?s just have a moment of silence for Meatwad. Carl, bow your head. *Carl is still lying charred on his grass with large hands*
*Dramatic music, and a very large Meatwad rolls into the background*
Meatwad: *In deep voice* WHERE ARE MY POPSICLES?!
Frylock: Damn!
Shake: Is that you, God?
Meatwad: Frylock, get away from the pool.
Frylock: Aww, hell.
Meatwad: *Jumps high* Can opener!

Family Guy, the episode when Peter and Chris must undergo a spiritual journey, ends with all of the cast making jokes about foreign stereotypes, with each character going into a "The more you know!" segment about whichever culture they just insulted. It ends with Peter ribbing on Canada, then it fades to black and all he's got is:

"Canada sucks!"

That reminds me of another ATHF ending. In "Kidney Car". the scene where Carl's car gets destroyed, and his head just randomly explodes for no reason.

Meatwad: Why'd he do that?
Shake: Why wouldn't he?

I think it just encapsulates the whole style of ATHF into one two-line exchange. The show makes absolutely no sense... but it makes perfect sense.

That was "He's Too Sexy for His Fat". I read the writers' commentary on that episode in the Family Guy companion book. It was basically a "screw you" ending; the writers started to tire of the characters having to learn a valuable lesson at the end of every show, so for this one they just said, "Screw it. Peter didn't learn anything here." :D

I l loved the ending of the recent Cleveland Show episode "Our Gang" when he was going on about going to a state where they allow medicinal marijuana and he says:
"Don't judge me half of you are high right now!"

There's one from The Critic that really stands out to me and never fails to make me laugh. It's the episode when Jay's son travels to Cuba to tell a girl he like sher. Jay catches up by taking a cruise ship and ends up running into Fdel Castro, who is the girl's father. Jay, having no idea who he is, insults him a number of times before realizing who he is. The episode ends with Jay tied up by a wall, with the military ready to shoot him. Right as it goes to the credits, Jay is heard saying "Before you shoot, I gave The Mambo King 5 stars". The military then yells "Hooray!"

Another one of my favorites is from SpongeBob. In "The Bully", Flats the Flounder spends the last few minutes trying to beat up Spongebob. Eventually, he gets exhausted and passes out right before the class begins. Just as Mrs. Puff walks in, she notices Flats knocke dout on the floor and SpongeBob with a raised fist. She then scolds him for beating up the new student and tells him she's about to kick his butt.

Another one from Squidbillies: Armageddon it on!: After the rapture gets called off, we see Early watching all the TVs he stole during the rapture. then the sheriff and all the people who are naked ask Early to let them in. Early then gives them a broken laptop and tries to close the door on them. then the sheriff looks inside his house as says "What are you watchin'? Is that..." Then early slams the door on them and shouts: "Shrek 2!".

My favorite Critic ending (I forget the specific title off-hand) is when Jay ends up in prison and a male inmate says in a sultry voice, "I got you some popcorn. No salt, just the way you like it." And Jay remarks happily, "You know, this is the best date I've ever been on."

Another great one is the end of "Dr. Jay" when all sorts of evil, criminal, and incompetent people are shown to have been cured by Jay's oil. "Hi, I'm a drunken tanker captain. I wouldn't be able to spill THIS oil, without JAY'S oil."

I like the end of PPG's "Curses". The girls have learned not to swear, and they take care of the "potty mouth" monster. He grumbles and then Buttercup says "less talking, more #$^&% walking!". She then gets soap mouth. :p

I thought the ending of "Dream Birthday" from Back At The Barnyard was really random and hilarious. At the end, we find out that whole episode was a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream.

From the Bugs Bunny short, "Super Rabbit"
Bugs: This looks like a job for a real superman!
Bugs jumps into the phone booth and changes into a marine. He then marches off towards "Berlin, Tokyo, and Points East".
Bugs: From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli... Sorry fellas, I can't play with yous anymore. I've got some important woik to do!

And of course, this gem of gems from "What's Opera, Doc?"

Bugs, allegedly dead and being carried off by Elmer, wakes up, looks at the audience, and says "Well, what did you expect in an opera, a happy ending?"

Those two would be my favorite Bugs Bunny endings of all time, although an honorable mention goes out to Haredevil Hare.

"Bugs Bunny, Earth calling! Have you prepared a statement for the press?"
Bugs: Yes, I have prepared a statement.
Cut to Bugs hanging from a crescent moon.
Bugs: GET ME OUTTA HERE!
