Funnel cloud

Oh, god. I would have shit in my pants and cried. Not even lying.

When I was six or seven, we had a really bad tornado that fucked our area up. (If you take the time to drive out of your way, you can still see some of the bigger damage that never got cleaned up.)

My dad and I were living in a trailer at the time, so we barricaded ourselves in the bathroom. A few hours passed and nothing happened. So we went down to the other end of the house to use the only working phone we had, and just as soon as we were back there, a tornado ripped between our house and the one next to ours -- picking up half of it entirely and slamming it into the side of ours.

I don't remember much else from that night, except for the sound. It was like thunder (which, incedentally, I fucking hate) only a hundred times more defeaning. My little kid logic told me I was totally going to die for sure.

But, yeah. I'm like Jane. Having lived in the middle of an area where tornadoes can get pretty nasty, I'm alert anytime the sky even remotely looks dark.

I think the saddest thing, though, is my grandmother. If a tornado comes, she's fucked either way. So when she hears warnings or sirens, she gets dressed, puts on all of her jewelry, and lays down to sleep. He reasoning? "Well, if I blow away, at leasted I'll be dressed."

What a coincidence. I went out in Hugo, when it hit the Army base in South Carolina in 1989/1990 whatever. I was hanging on a chain that was holding down the bleachers, and they were flopping in the breeze, and trees were flying by. It was something. Blew the windows out of Fort Jackson for sure. It was a mess. So it WAS Hugo. lol. Honestly, I was in as safe a place as I could be outside, though I still had to hold on. It totally fucked the base up. I watched it for about 3 hours, until I was too tired to hold on safely. It was amazing to watch.

Rain going down, sideways, up, all at once. The sound. The flying debris. The fear of those in the building all huddling for dear life. I just couldn't miss it. I went out again when the "Eye" brushed by. I've always liked the wind. Maybe a Tornado would cure me of it, but I don't think so. I would watch as long as I could, then dive into the shelter, then come back out. Fuck it.

You should try some shit out...
For one, if you have any junk, leave it outside, far from the house. Make sure it is small, and not explosive. Then, tie a laser or something onto it, put tape on the button, and watch the lightshow go. For even better results, tie multiple lasers onto a single object.
