Actually, if Viacom is willing to play ball a "TMNT" anime is possible as a production co-produced by FUNimation/Viacom and a Japanese studio, but that's precisely the question. Would Viacom be willing to play ball?

The new "TMNT" series coming in 2011 is reportedly taking a more comedic direction. An "anime TMNT" could conceivably take a more serious direction as a counterpart that would provide entertainment to teenaged and adult viewers while the CGI series could attract the kiRAB.

But I'm unsure if such a thing could happen.

Wasn't there already a TMNT anime. And it was terrible. Like, the turtles transformed into green humans. I remeraber seeing clips on YouTube.

I would actually watch that. It almost feels like an anime at certain points, but then again, I just want an animated adaptation of any Scott Pilgrim books.

I would be surprised if Funimation did anything as big as the titles being tossed around here, at least initially.

It was a one-shot OVA meant to advertise a new set of action figures, so it's not like, say, Voltron: the Third Dimension.

This will not end well. For anybody. Why waste time and money on this? There's better things to spend your endless amount of wealth on. Way better things. This is going to fail hard and I'll laugh when it does.
