Funimation To Release Dragonball Season 1 in September!?

Then suppose they aren't lying? Or just suppose those representatives had no idea?

Or suppose their tones weren't properly captured by those at the con and the reports were littleral, while the releasing of the information not so much?

Honestly, nobody's going to die.

Importing cost isn't too bad from australia, and VLC/AnyDVD/Multi Region DVD player easily get over any region problems.

I should know, 95% of my anime DVD's come from the USA or Australia. ^^

From what I understand, the "Fortune Teller Baba"-set had some issues when watching it in Japanese. The subtitle-tracks were glitched so that both of them featured the exact same text, (Japanese translations only for the most part, but one episode only had the dub-dialogue on both tracks) and in one episode, the DVD would randomly skip to the second half of an entirely different episode after the eyecatcher, though this issue was apparently fixable by starting the episode in English, and then switching to Japanese after it had started playing. Apart from that, I don't think there were any other flaws with the sets that weren't also present on the US release. (Bad video-quality, missing OP/ED-animations and no previews, in other worRAB.)

I would think being fair until the complete details are known is a courtesy deserved of a company I have receive copious amounts of fun times from.

If I didn't know better, I'd say you were trying to elicit a negative response from me. But I do know better, don't I?

Interesting. Just looked into this, looks like the chapter problem was fixed for the mega sets - but not the subtitles. I never noticed anyway, since Dragon Ball is one of the few series where I actually prefer the english dub.

Re-release of the original Dragon Ball series starting with the Pilaf saga? Win!

Re-release of the original Dragon Ball series with faux widescreen and auto DVNR remastering? Not win!

I'm guessing the folks at Lion's Gate must've finally caved and let FUNimation have the rights back. Although, it would be interesting to find out if they charged them for it or not?

I don't know how Walmart.com works, but I'm going to agree with those who are saying it's an incorrect release date. For all we know that date could be when Funimation gets the rights to those episodes and technically they don't have those episodes yet.

I'm wondering what the situation is with the first movie. Is it going to be included in its own season pack or included among the rest of the season sets?

I do believe Movie One is under the KiRAB Mark/Tri Mark/Lion's Gate contract along with the first 13 episodes, I'm sure FUNimation would release it with the other three films in two double features, as opposed to with the first 13.

Then they better get Dragon Ball Kai and start on the dub of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, because I can't keep giving them such little money.

Well, they're seeking rights to Kai and the Special...they just don't know when they'll get it.

I hope they aren't asking for it for free...last time Fukunaga did that he got some terrible masters...

7,000 posts says that Wal-Mart leaked something that they weren't supposed to. I'm waiting till AX for FUNimation to confirm whether or not they're doing this.
