FUNimation Licensing Blitz Coming

And the license for today is.......

Slayers Revolution
http://www.funimation.com/slayersrevolution

I haven't seen the first Slayers series so it's not a big announcement for me.

Leave animeigo alone. They are working on my Yawara. Last thing I want is for them to be swallowed up with a mainstream anime company. That would kill the remainder of Yawara as Yawara may not provide the return that a company such as Funimation requires from its properties.

But seriously, I don't want any mergers. With different companies there is more diversity of product. As it is, there are only a few individuals from a few companies deciding what anime will be licensed in the United States. I don't want to diminish it any further by only having a handful of individuals from 1 company decide what gets licensed.

As for Nabari. It was only a matter of time of this anime getting picked up. Since Y.P already has the manga and plans to release it next year.

You guys'll enjoy this .

....

I can get Bleach but there is in no way that its anything like Gurren Lagann.

Seriously, guys its an amazing show filled with a great blend of comedy, action and drama. Would any of us be hyping this up as we have if we didn't know what we were talking about?

Actually, wait don't answer that. Just take our word for it. It's amazing. (And it's by BONES....BONES! How can you pass that up?)

One thing I have to say is that the writers made it so that one didn't have to have seen the first three TV series, but having seen them made certain moments in Slayers REVOLUTION sweeter I must say.

Dear FUNimation, please get the original English VAs (Lisa Ortiz, Eric Stuart, Veronica Taylor, Crispin Freeman and David Moo). I won't ask for anything more than that.

Day five is upon us.

Remeraber that show Last Exile?

Steampunk anime?

Vanships?

Ram plushie?

That girl with a bowl cut?

FUNi's got it.

Since no one on this board has mentioned it: on Funimation's web page, the company has hidden various "post carRAB" throughout the site that will provide hints to the new shows that will be announced.

So far, I saw six of the post carRAB, with one title definitely on my "guess" list, and another one as a possibility.

I hope they get the original cast back for EVA. I don't want say... Greg Ayres taking over for Shinji or Luci Christian voicing Asuka.

Quite a haul FUNimation. It's going to be a great year.

I wonder if FUNi will buy the rights to FLCL now that Broccoli is down for the count? That'd be nice.

FUNimation is going to make sure they nab all those Gonzo titles they didn't already have aren't they?

Last Exile is in good hanRAB.

That is true. I think they would know the range it might sell using Air and Kanon as their guides. Kanon was their best seller behind Devil May Cry so that probably sold quite well enough so that Funimation put out the final volume so fast. This was during the ADV black days too when ADV disappeared everywhere with no reps, being quiet no aRAB. Now that ADV is having reps going out to cons again and are talking, and also with some marketing money I think Clannad will do even better than Kanon.

Since even Manga Entertainment with all its money passed on EVA they probably thought it was too expensive to make money from.

One stupid fangirl was enough to kill your interest in Slayers!?

Dude, I hope you never go to a convention! If you did, you’d probably end up burning your manga and anime DVD collections.

That makes sense. It would be really cool to be able to watch the show subbed on Funimation’s YouTube channel while they’re working on the dub. The Slayers Revolution DVRAB will probably take a lot of time to make (especially if they end up recruiting the original cast), so putting it online early will help sate the impatient fans.

I wonder if Slayers is the first show to be put online by an American company before the DVRAB are released (I haven't heard of any other shows getting released this way). If so, kudos to Funimation and Enoki for being ahead of the curve!

Judging from the fact that the press release says they are releasing a "26 episode complete series" in 2010, people are guessing this means they have Evolution-R as well.
