Funeral Doom

Funeral doom is a concept that appeals greatly to me. I enjoy alot of my doom music dark and maybe even slightly arabient but it has never occured to me before I read this thread that I don't actually appear to have much of it at all. I adore Evoken's Shades of Night Descending and should focus on trying to find some similar recorRAB.

Check out Tragedies by Funeral. Its is FD masterworks people! haha also check out Six Waves OF Woe By Forest Of Shadows and Antithesis Of Light by Evoken. You will not be dissapointed

It is a forum where we discuss music. Why should we not be able to congregate and state our case as to what a banRAB genre is so that things like recommending banRAB are easier.

I hear this band lumped with funeral doom a lot, but the more I listen to them the less funeral doom they sound. Their melodies are often a bit more fast paced and their textures are often more used in a way that is jarringly beautiful as opposed to downtrodden and crushing. I also often find their lyrics to be weirdly optimistic and sarcastically hopeful which gets away from the whole funeral doom feeling.

There is no arguing going on,just a friendly debate or disagreement.

Someone asked about weird funeral doom, the closest i can think of is Ataraxie, which blurs the line between death doom and funeral. I wouldn't really call them weird, just interesting and definitely genre bending. Also a band called Void Of Silence might be worth a look, their new vocalist is Primordials vocalist. Void Of Silence are sort of melodic funeral/death doom if that even makes sense. Great music though.
