Fun Story Point Continuity Errors...

For shows that Don't have too much continuity, and will be ignoring some of it in order to make a good joke.

Just out of boredom, I popped on Return of the Technodrome from the 1987 Turtles series. In Rock Around the Block, a joke is made about the Technodrome not being able to go in reverse. Yet in Return of, Krang Backs it up in order to go into a portal. It apparently can also go side ways, as seen in the next shot.

Any other series where for the sake of a good joke, a major or semi major continuity error is made? :)

I don't know if it was meant to be a joke but in The Beverly Hills Teens chapter, Bianca's Diary, Bianca vows she will never date Pierce again, yet later in the story Splitting Image, she offers a date to Pierce for his birthday.

Ren and Stimpy time!

In Big House Blues, Ren is disgusted after kissing Stimpy in his sleep. In Son of Stimpy, however, he asked Stimpy to kiss him.

In the Ed Edd n Eddy Valentine's special, Double D gets detention for the first time, but in some other episode that takes place in the fall he makes a comment about how the three of them all had dentention.

I’m sorry, but the continuity errors that have been mentioned appear to have been accidental. What makes you so sure that what you’ve cited about the Technodrome was deliberately done in order to make a joke? The other examples that have been posted in this thread don’t seem to be deliberate jokes either.

Regardless, the only example that I can cite is the “Brandy & Mr. Whiskers” episode entitled “You’ve Got Snail”, which involved Brandy & Mr. Whiskers getting into a dispute with a snail. The snail told Brandy & Mr. Whiskers that he was living in their tree long before they moved in and that he has witnessed all of their ordeals, in which there were numerous flashbacks to previous episodes and a stick with a picture of a snail on it was held up in front of the scenes and it acted like it was in just about every episode of the series. Brandy & Mr. Whiskers then commented on how they didn’t remember the snail being there, as he actually wasn’t, but the snail “was” there all along. It was a joke done at the expense of continuity, but it was an obvious joke and the writers had fun with it.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen that episode of “Brandy & Mr. Whiskers”, so even though I generally described what happened, there may be some minor discrepancies.

There was a simpsons episode from one of the later seasons where Flanders mentions Homer's Mr. Plow truck, and Homer can't ever remember owning it - yet he's wearing the Mr. Plow jacket in the same scene. A fun joke that brings in continuity just for the sake of throwing it out.
