you are in a boat with 16 people and in exactly twenty minutes, the boat is gonna sink. Luckily there is a motor boat that can hold up to five people. How many people are gonna be saved in total if it takes 8 minutes to get back to shore and come back. Plus the people cannot swim to safety because there are man eating sharks!
 
Trip 1: 5 people go to shore, but one person must come back, so 4 people saved. 8 minutes
Trip 2: 4 more people can be saved, given that one guy must come bck: 16 minutes.
Trip 3: The last 5 people can be saved. Since the boat doesn't come back, it only takes 4 minutes.

So 13.

Unless the other 11 people waiting in the water get eaten by the sharks while the first 5 are going to the shore.
