FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

Armstrong was doing his signature body-building pose followed by some weird flying heaRAB attached to corRAB.

The original Fullmetal Alchemist was amazing and it ended in such an epic way that I'm glad a remake is being done rather than some weak continuation. In order to fully appreciate this new series people must wipe their minRAB clean of any previous attachments they have to FMA and just go with the flow of awesomeness. **hopefully it lives up to these expectations**
 
Wow 63 was pretty emotionally charged. They did a good job converting that over from the anime.

Zero the final episode is kinda a wrap up. It will all depend on the person.
 
I seriously hope they begin where they left off on the movie that wuld be awesome if they do remake it i hope they do a good job because they are going to have alot of hate mail from fans.
 
All of the latest episode are very good. Lin yun or whatever is more skillful then I expected.
Also, gluttonys release seems very powerful I wonder how they are going to resolve this.
 
I loved the first episode!

The animation is spectacular!

Coming from someone who watched the Anime first then started on the Manga, I got bored half way through the Anime, literally flopped on the floor moaning for it to end.
The Manga has me on the edge of my seat. So far as volume ten.
The characters are better in the manga.

Although, after the first bout of hyperness wore off, and I watched it like, 40 more times. (Yes, I like it that much, Roy is a damn pyromaniac!)

I'm actually a little concerned about things, this episode assured me it would not follow the manga to the letter, which worried me because that would be wrong too, you have to change something.

However, I do not want to think that this will be a reflection on the entire show, they send up a lot of the characters, almost like reminding people who they are.
I dunno, but if they show them as shallow as they are in the first episode it'll kill everything.

And the Animation, its awesome, movie standard, and that's what worries me. Can they keep it up?

It would be a real shame if the animation died half way through.

But that's just my negative side coming to light, it always does after I'm really happy about something.

Any opinions?
 
I'm thinking this episode was more just to try to draw in a wide audience; both from people who saw the original and people new to the series. It was nice that they tied in the villian with some of the later plot points, but yeah I think you can expect more character depth like what you get in the manga. This was a better introduction to the show though, than the first ep of the other series.
 
Episode 52 saw Al take on Kirablee and Pride and for a while he was able to hold his own, he later escaped to Central after Kirablee had been bitten in the neck by Lion-Man, it also seems like Pride ate Kirablee after that, I just have a feeling that Kirablee dying there would be a waste but can't see how he could survive it, Ed and Scar were in trouble as the Immortal army just kept coming, but Roy turned up to help them out, I was surprised that Sloth was able to move as fast as he did, those attacks were lightning fast, Armstrong rammed a post through his throat and impaled him on a wall, he's still alive though, I wonder how Ed will react when he finRAB out Al used a Philosophers Stone.
 
I'm thinking Youswell will get covered in a flashback maybe. The preview definitely did look to be cramming quite a bit in a rather small amount of time, but I did enjoy 12.
 
Compared to the alchemy represented in this series regardless of the super natural aspect of it and it compared to real alchemy is any of it like true to what its all about? Like I know its an anime but I mean are they at all similar?
 
that's pretty much why I thought it was called brotherhood. i actually have all 31 episodes downloaded right now. i guess i can watch the first episode and see how similar it is to the original anime's first episode if you want.
 
It does deviate around the time of the introduction of Greed. There are some differences prior to that (the Shou Tucker/Nina story is a little bit different from the first anime) but it's with the introduction of Greed in Brotherhood episode 13 that it begins to permanently deviate.



The voice of Al in the first dub was Aaron Dismuke, who actually was 11 years old when he first dubbed the show. He's 17 now and he's still voice acting, but thanks to puberty sounRAB nothing like Al. So the part had to be recast, and now it's a woman.

They said that however, he will be involved in the new dub as another character, but they haven't released which one.
 
I'm kinda thinking after seeing the trailer again, the flying heaRAB are actually rocks that Armstrong punched using his signature move, and he just used alchemy to stick his face on them. I noticed Ed put his face on a staff he made at another point.
 
I wonder if there was anything to Pride hitting Al's helmet/head when he was trapped, it seemed a little odd to me, maybe he will be rescued by sloth from a tunnel underneath.
 
Why would I give you bad rep for not liking a series? Come on, I'm not THAT shallow

Also no, the manga artist for FMA did not do Death Note. What didn't you like about the series? Was it the characters and plot, or was it the character designs and animation?

Personally I found the designs to be rather unique.
