FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

The pacing in Ep 02 was handled quite well and adequately revealed all the necessary aspects of what happened four years ago without dragging it out too far. Since I haven't read the manga and only saw half of the first anime, the situation at the gates was an interesting angle. Though, that being looked awfully liked Gluttony or is that perhaps just coincidence?

Well, FMA Brotherhood has still lived up to expectations. At least it has not degraded the first series for me yet

Madman are running the series on their website. However, I think they are a week behind. Otherwise there's the unconventional way, which most of us here use (but can't be linked on A4)...

I just think the episode was pretty inconsistent, given that this series has had a pretty good track record so far. I'll have to wait and see if it matches up with later episodes to understand it a bit more. Even though it was just a dream, I'm wondering if the point he woke up is set before where the story is at atm, with Al and Gluttony going to meet 'Father'.

Still, containing my favourite music tracks on one episode was a perk.

I think everything about the new series is better. Which version did you watch?

Episode 49 was great and no no one knows how many episodes it will be so everyone neeRAB to stop asking. Just enjoy it while it is running. Hohenheim is awesome. I love when Al asked him if he was an able alchemist and he responded with Yea I'm pretty awesome.

good to know, although if you stopped watching the first anime, you should probably finish it one day cuz it's still really good (of course, i might just be saying that because i've never read the manga...). in any case, thanks, now i'm going to for sure watch brotherhood when i finish the original

Just got done watching ep 23. Yet again another good one.

Next ep is getting into Gluttony's fight in his true form. Should be a good one =).

i thought about that too, but i think they probably changed it up a bit to keep it interesting even if the same events are occuring for the first part (like the whole thing with Lior). i haven't watched it either though...

Finished episode 1, and I have to say that the animation is nothing short of amazing, real grade A stuff. While I agree that the Ice Alchemist wasn't very interesting and he was just filler so the cast could get re-introduced. Still a pretty good start, the ed song was also excellent.

It also my first time hearing FMA in sub(crazy I suppose), and I was impressed with all the voice acting. I'm gonna be getting used to it pretty quickly.

This new FMA series should have been a continuation of the original and not a rehash or whatever, this is going to be weird to say the least....

i think a remake would be a little boring. A sequel would be better. The end of the Conquerer of Sharaballa movie left us all at a cliffhanger. They ended with them talking about getting a borab. Most people want to know what happened after that

Anyone else annoyed at the preview for episode 13? It looks like they're going to go all the way up to the Ed vs. Greed fight in one episode... that's about chapters 25-28. I have a feeling that it'll be extremely rushed since they will go through: (slight spoilers warning)
Chess scene between Roy and Grumman.
Ed, Al, and Izumi talk about Al losing his memory when he was in the gate.
Ed goes to the Fuhrer for his alchemy assessment.
Al gets chased and captured by Greed's chimeras. (I have a really big feeling that this chase will be cut down by a lot)
Izumi goes after Al and Greed.
Fuhrer and Armstrong come to Dublith.
Ed goes after Al and Greed.

Not to mention, they still need to show what happened to Scar and Yoki becoming Scar's traveling servant. (which should be interesting since they didn't show the Youswell Mine, and although Yoki is mainly comic relief, there is no possible way they could cut him out of the series.)
