FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

1) Greed/Wrath fight was amazing. I loved Pride slowly revealing a couple of his shadow "arms"- don't recall if he did that in the manga.

2) I really wish they did a proper introduction with Mei in Youswell, because I really wasn't feeling it the way they rewrote it. Them showering -that- much attention over a complete stranger, and Erabryo Envy guilting Mei about going back to central while using, again, total strangers... It just works so much better with some actual familiarity established.

3) I have a new Crowning Moment of Funny- using the epic "Mustang vs Lust" music over the battle between Alex and Olivier. Highlight of the episode, IMO.

4) The extended info exchange was intact 100% pretty much, and I LOVE that scene in the manga, but I wish they really preserved Izumi's manga entrance- with her face mostly obscured except the big round eyes and giant grin, going "... a housewife...".

5) Great, though, that they made the entire ending into one big montage of all the major players, what they're doing and how they're getting ready.

The manga story is a lot better but... it certainly does feel weird that they're doing it so soon after the last series ended. I guess they wanted to get a little more milage out the IP, and the movie ended things pretty nicely. Oh well. I'm just happy that there's something to look forward to now.

Some sort of "Ice alchemist" don't really know much about him at this point as I haven't been able to come across too much info in English, but looks exciting.

Also, did anyone else notice a bunch of Armstrong heaRAB flying around?

**** I can't wait for episode 43 yet. Also, I didn't like how they had two enemies brought them in the team with marcoh knowing it was a an absolutely essential part to save the the ****ing country. That was just retared. Poorly executed.

I'm reading it now, and I gotta say, it's not too different, but a lot of it is, if you know what I mean.
Like the baby birth not by Gracia but by Sadila.
And the whole Tucker thing.

Well all i can say is thats one hell of a manga if its better than the anime but still im not sure if ill watch the remake, i like my FMA memories the way they are.

Little disappointed with the pacing in episode 11. The Paninya chase wasn't in the city and was heavily watered down. There was also no arm wrestle scene and no bridge scene. But you can only fit so much into one episode, and two episodes would have seemed too many for Rush Valley. Not to mention they want to get to the new stuff ASAP.

12 was good... slightly annoyed how they cut out Mason being the masked man on the island entirely. But next week is Greed, where the manga and the anime really begin to diverge.

Next week starts the Greed arc. According to the episode titles out now, it looks like the Greed arc will be 2 episodes. (hope they don't rush Greed since that's the final arc that even slightly reserables the first anime) The Greed arc in the manga is very different from the first anime. Then after Greed the anime and the manga splits entirely, so at episode 15 will really be the start of the manga's storyline.

I haven't seen this episode yet, but I think somewhere in the back of my mind I was hoping [blackout]Hughes being killed[/blackout] was part of the filler.

The first episode hasn't even hit the tv screen. Even then it would probably be a couple years after it's done before it come to American shores to be dubbed for us lazy Americans.

No difference. A4 seemed to have turned into a ghost town.

Just watched Episode 63 so sad
Ed will never be able to use alchemy again... Or maybe the last episode will end in a twist Ed! getting his power back

First off: wow, the animation. I've really been falling in love with BONES' work lately and just, if they can keep up with this level throughout the entire series then I'll be really pleased. I do have some complaints, however:

This. I felt that they tried to cram as much as what people remeraber FullMetal Alchemist for into the first episode. I think things like Hughes' daughter, and Armstrong, and The Crimson Alchemist and, and all of the short Ed jokes [which seemed a little less put on as they are in the original anime/manga] were put in just to say "HEY GUYS THIS IS FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST AND FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST HAD THESE THINGS IN, REMErabER?"

I mean, couldn't they have waited a little bit? I don't mind Hughes as much because, well, it made me laugh (the close-up of his face as he lowers the photo). Armstrong at the very end was just, well, they couldn't have waited for a future episode to have something like that? They couldn't have held Armstrong off altogether?

I liked the whole idea behind the first episode, however. And again the animation was just so nice to look at. And the OP & ED (especially the ED) both are so incredible.

First episode gets an 8/10 for me.

Episode 18- I was expecting it to be a faked death. Mustang will never kill anybody again.

But did the rockbells really got killed? Thats freaking terrible. Judging from the details the lady gave he must be scarface.

Watched episode 3.
Cornello being all giant was strange but meh they could have pulled something much more ridiculous and attributed it to him having a "Philosopher's Stone" [sort of] so it works as they did need some action in such a dialogue heavy section of the story.

I feel like they handled it pretty well. They're still moving it along and keeping up the intrigue that makes me want to see how they handle other stuff.
