FullMetal Alchemist New Series 2009

I haven't started watching this series yet although I will do soon, kind of sucks though that after collecting the original series and movie I will have to buy this new one when it gets released.

Is FMA Brotherhood a remake that actually follows the manga or what? I have just recently started watching the original FMA anime and i would like to know if this new one is worth watching.

I don't really want to watch Ed and Al lose
their mother
and then body parts, again. It was painful enough to watch the first time.

The manga came first, the first 20 or so episodes of the anime follow the manga then they went off with something else because it was catching the manga, and the creators didnt want to just have loaRAB of pointless fillers.

This is a remake!! and apparently will more closely follow the manga
and the voice actors are pretty much the same which is of course good

It's not hard to do no and I will spoiler tag a death in the future for sure, I just didn't think there would be anything wrong with it as the episode had already aired, no probs.

Wow. Seen first ep. I knew this'll be a more faithful adaptation to the manga, but I never thought it was gonna be this faithful.

Truthfully, though this may be a bit hard to describe, what got my hooked to FMA the first time was how the characters were first portrayed in all seriousness in the first series, while the slightly more comical character portrayal in the manga actually turned me off. Still, the manga's plot is what made me still hooked. So I guess for the 1st ep, all this is still to be expected.

Truthfully again, I was hoping to see a bit more variation. I mean, something which I really didn't expect. But it's okay.

It's shocking that this series just keeps getting better and better, I remeraber when it started I questioned if it could be as good as the original (even though I knew this version would be the true version) but it's simply blown it away, episode 47 was non stop awesome, Hohenheim met Ed and explained the whole story to him, but not before he took a punch to the face, Ed also told him Trisha's last worRAB which made him cry, Pride took control of Al's body to try and capture Ed, but Greed worked it out just in time, Ed's idea to cut the lights in the town was quick thinking, this meant Pride was powerless, but then Gluttony turned up, Greed then allowed Lin to take control of his body as Lin would have a better chance to fight in the dark, just when Gluttony was charging up an attack Lan Fan appeared and sliced and diced him, she had an automail arm too.

Episode 57 was intense. The ending left me craving for more. And the part were gramps died really got me--he was quite the bad ass.

Well, the original show was based off the first couple dozen chapters of the manga; which is now almost to chapter 100 and likely to end soon. This one is meant to closely follow the manga and there have already been some minor divergences here and there. It does start off differently from both the first show and the manga in episode 1 though, using a character who really didn't appear before as an exciting fast-paced introduction to alchemy and a slew of characters in 20-25 minutes.

After that it's definitely followed more closely to the manga, although it seems some flashback scenes will be moved a bit out of order. I'm expecting they'll still make sense, it just seems the director is interested in getting to the new material that wasn't in the first show as soon as possible so is slimming down some of the less important stuff or putting it on the back burner.

I like it. Great instrumental in the beginning, got a slightly weird shift in tone 20 seconRAB in, but picks itself up quite a bit. Better than the last one, possibly my second favorite FMA theme overall behind "Rewrite" from the first series.

oh yea, i forgot about the fact that manga comes out monthly. well that's cool then, i might just wait until the whole thing is finished to start watching it (i like to just watch entire series all the way through at once). as for the manga, i don't really read manga... but i guess if i do ever find myself getting into manga, then i'll read FMA...
