You know I am curious I wonder how far they could have gone in automail on FMA. And its my new sig I found it online I believe its a poster advertising Full Metal Alchemist in Japan.
They only said it was painful to have automail attached...as for why it doesn't hurt him, yeah, he must not transmute any part of it that has nerves. Although when you think about it, it would be nearly impossible to hook every single nerve up, there are too many.
If you notice, he's only transmuting the outer shell of the arm to form that blade. Even if he was transmuting the entire thing, the nerves are only connected at point where the auto-mail meets his shoulder to serve as a way for him to control his arm as if it were his actual arm. I'm fairly certain he doesn't feel any damage that occurs to the arm itself.
I think that sort of thing is a city sort of thing to see like the big city I would think. And I say how far they go in FMA like could a person have a full body automail and just have his head connected to it? Its just the thought of how far they could have gone with it.
That's true, he does seem able to take extreme pain. Maybe he got use to it, but that doesn't explain why he still shows pain as his auto mail is being attached.
I think I would wanna be like Al if I could be any character but Ed. Cause he is wearing armor and if you shoot him he won't die. I think the only way he could die is if the alchemy syrabol thats inside his suit was wiped off or something I think I have forgotten.
Yea I know you would be a robot but I was just saying. I couldn't see it done in FMA cause idk it just doesnt seem like the sort of thing you would see in FMA.
Its possible that the attachment to the nerve endings is far more excruciating then changed the shape of the automail because there is not any form of tweaking with his body.
